This was my ensemble of yesterday. My outfit is a very basic ensemble built around my scarf. To add a little more interest alongside the lime green highlight in the scarf, I opted to wear my gold pumps. :)

With spring flowers in full bloom, today, I really was set on including a floral pattern as part of my ensemble.  Ideally, I would have liked to have worn a floral printed shoe, specifically, the ones in the collage below.  But, those are still on my wishlist.  So instead, I rummaged through my scarf collection and pulled the piece I am wearing as a head scarf.  I find scarves (whether worn as a head or neck piece or tied around your bag handle) are an affordable and chic way to participate in a trend - in this case "the floral print".

Today's weekend ensemble was all about injecting a little African flare into my classic vibrant style. I love this tee (Thanks J Crew for designing it!).  This is because it has a saying in a language I can speak (Swahili), and I grew up in Tanzania for a good portion of my childhood years.  The saying on the tee translates to mean "safe journey" or "great journey" depending on the context.  I love it when I randomly find these kinds of treasures in mainstream stores. :)

This was my work outfit of yesterday.  This ensemble is such an easy and light outfit to put together for mild weather days, as it really only involves putting on a jersey maxi dress and blazer.  And, this is what I love Old Navy for.  Their jersey maxi dresses are so easy to wear and flattering, I cannot help but want one in every colour!  Very tempting since this weekend they have an "up to 30% off sale" with the code SUMMERSAVE.  Here is to some summer shopping! :)
