December marks the beginning of the winter season, and the time to embrace layers in full force for that cozy chic look. What better and affordable way than with scarves and vests? I am loving this gorgeous neck scarf by Unique Hijabs (my current favourite). In the spirit of supporting small online businesses, check out my other top picks from Unique Hijabs' webstore, HERE.
As well, these are my favourite vest picks for the season. One can never have too many!

DIY "Leather Patch Coat"
Everyone seems to have the ever-so-trendy leather patch jacket or coat. If you do not have one, then you can recreate the look by pairing a basic leather jacket with a contrasting vest on top - Voila!
Leather Jacket: Zara (old) - similar here (40% off)
Dark Wash Skinny Jeans: Smart Set
I am the last person who thought I would wear floral jeans. While I adore them on others, I could not commit. Until, I saw these cuties on clearance at Forever 21. To achieve a classic and chic look, I paired it with a simple long-line blouse (untucked to minimize the busy pattern) and a structured blazer. Add a coordinating statement heel and few choice accessories, and you are good to go!

"Pattern Play with a Bold Highlight"
This outfit is a play on neutral patterns with the same colourway. The overall look has a modern urban vibe achieved with simple classic pieces. Add a bold coat, and it makes the whole look that much more interesting.
P.S.: I am a big believer in adding at least one colourful coat to your wardrobe. It makes all the difference when the winter season just seems to go on and on. :)
Sweater: Forever 21
Black Skinny Jeans: Jacob
Bag: Vince Camuto - similar
"Winterizing a Maxi Dress"
For those chilly dry winter days when you want to don on a maxi dress that you bought the summer before. Styling your summer maxi dress with traditional winter fabrics, like faux-fur, is a great way to get maximum wear out of your wardrobe. Here, I did another "DIY Leather Patch Coat" look by pairing my leather jacket with a long fur vest.
Style Tip: Since summer maxi dresses are usually made of thinner material (like this jersey dress), keep warm by wearing thick ponte leggings or tights underneath.
Coat: Zara - similar here (40% off)!
Dress: Old Navy
Booties: Calvin Klein - similar
Scarf: No brand

Buffalo Plaid. It really is Canadianna Style at its best. Love how this pattern is a hot trend this fall/winter season. To be honest, in my opinion, this pattern never went out of style. It is a classic plaid that will always stand the test of time.
With this look, I decided to make it work for the office by pairing it with black and some sparkle for a sleek and polished look aka "Lumberjack Pretty". :)
